When I clicked on the screen, I had no idea how the movie
would impact life. To be honest, I didn’t know much about the movie at all.
Immediately I was hooked. I heard of October Baby, but honestly had no idea it was filled with faith and spiritual healing. As the story unfolded, I clutched my chest and leaned
closer. My mind raced to the many women suffering with similar issues; women
lost in the midst of their wound.
The spiritual messages of hope and healing are found in the least
expected places. Lines jump out causing one to rush for pen and paper. If only our own journey's could be like that; filled with God speaking - causing us to grab hold of every note. The truth is they are - we just aren't looking.
There are moments in life when we need to ask the tough
questions, open doors we’ve kept closed for so long, and journey back to
places that may appear filled with fear. It’s in our journey of searching, God
speaks, reveals, and heals. Like the Israelites, the Lord goes ahead of us on our journey, to search out safe places and to show us
the way we should go. (Deut. 1:33 NIV) He is never far away and always
there to walk with us. The hardest, yet most rewarding, part will be taking the first step.
The young woman in the movie experienced deep emotions she
eventually needed to sort through. It is a movie where God is revealed, love is
expressed, and forgiveness is found. Watching the movie will be a journey well
worth taking. Some of you may even find inspiration to step toward your own journey of healing. God is waiting.
